About The Strategic Plan
The Sonoran Joint Venture Strategic Plan is a big picture guidance document that describes the structure and function of the SJV, takes a broad-scale view of the conservation landscape of the region, and outlines high level objectives and strategies for implementing bird and habitat conservation. It is updated every five years.
The Strategic Plan guides the overall direction of the SJV. It provides a framework not only for biological planning, but also for other elements essential for a successful and sustainable conservation program, including Conservation Coordination and Delivery, Biological Foundation, Education and Outreach, Funding, and Evaluation. These elements are supported by functions such as coordination, species assessment, conservation design, training, research, and strategic communications. The intended audience for the Strategic Plan is the SJV Management Board, committees, staff, and partners.
