David Borré graduated from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), where he worked as a field technician at the Ornithology Laboratory for 4 years while completing his undergraduate thesis. He has been involved in bird monitoring in different priority areas, with focus on the status of endangered species populations. During his 9 years at Pronatura Noreste, A.C., he worked as an assistant in the GIS area and grew into the role of Program Director for the Chihuahuan Desert area, with projects on grasslands, livestock, watershed management, and social science. He joined the USFS International Programs Mexico team in November 2022 as the Regional Northern Mexico Coordinator. His current duties include overseeing the North of Mexico projects and collaborations as well as supporting the communication with the USFS Migratory Species Program. He has participated in different specialization courses, such as Conservation of Migratory Birds at the Smithsonian-Mason School, fire management, good livestock practices, soil restoration, GIS, project planning methods, river restoration, team management skills, and bioinformatics. David is enthusiastic about creating new foreign and domestic partnerships that can result in the design and implementation of conservation projects. In his free time, he enjoys birding, mountain biking, barbecues, and reading history literature.
