Emma Havstad is the Senior Restoration Ecologist for River Partners’ Southern California office, where she focuses on large-scale horticultural restoration to deliver meaningful habitat improvements for wildlife. Since 2009, Emma has gained experience in restoration techniques through numerous field jobs in the Bay Area, Oregon, Orange County, and San Diego County. She was also the botany program manager on San Clemente Island, managing a native plant nursery, invasive species control program, and rare plant recovery efforts. Emma joined the River Partners team in 2019, inspired by the commitment to delivering transformative restoration outcomes for endangered wildlife. She is excited to join the SJV in working across borders to rise to the challenges facing the unique flora and fauna of our region. Emma’s current favorite bird species in the SJV region is the White-tailed Kite.
