Ironwood Tree Experience and the Sonoran Joint Venture brought birding, nature, art, and experiential learning programs to communities across Tucson. Events culminated with an art exhibition to celebrate our connections to birds and nature.
Through a collaboration of Ironwood Tree Experience and the Sonoran Joint Venture, youth community members have the opportunity to explore the outdoors and artistic expression all while learning about birds.
Birding in the urban environment makes nature accessible to youth in a way that allows them to appreciate the uniqueness of their community. It can also empower young people to advocate for nature and inspire others to do the same.
